Hi Brian,
I have always made my connectors in the past. I use copper
tubing that is just large enough to fit over the CATV, about 7"
long. Make sure to cut two slits down about 3" so it can be
compressed with a hose clamp when your finished. The
next part involves using a TEFLON SO-239, and setting it with
the female end face down on the table. Solder small diameter
copper tubing about 4" long onto the center of the back of the
SO-239 (you will need LOTS of heat, thus the reason for using
teflon) I can never find the exact size tubing for the center conductor
so I get as close as I can, then compress it to an oval so it fits
very snug. This also allows the center to "slide" in the connector
with temperature changes. Take the 7" copper tubing with
the slits and position it on top of the SO-239 and solder into place.
Don't forget to Penetrox, both insides of the copper tubing, then
tighten the hose clamp down and use your favorite method
of weather-proofing.
