We (Tamiami Amateur Radio Club) used a bob-tail this year in our QRP effort
and it worked really well. Of course being in SW Florida, the only
direction we need is North.
We used it here on Casey Key Island right on the beach with take-offs over
saltwater. We also used a full wave delta loop. I think the bob-tail won
this bet. As my old friend N4AR also said, "always bet on the bobtail."
