I had a similar problem. It was a broken gear tooth. I kept rocking the
rotator until a breeze moved the antenna enough for the next gear to catch.
I wouldn't bother with the thrust bearing. Unbolt it and slide it up the
mast and lock it in place. The rotator can take the vertical load.
