Why is it that people that can copy an s3 signal at 35 wpm and get it ALL
right, miss the key point in this thread from W4RNL?

Every reference to his excellent work on this subject has apparently
missed, or ignored, the fact that he is writing about VERTICAL DIPOLES, not
the common 1/4 wave vertical. One of the big questions recently has been
about the validity of the manufacturers claims that their particular
vertical does not need radials- There has been LOTS of talk about the need,
and the claim that the DIPOLES do not need radials.

When a recognized expert in the field takes the trouble to make an
excellent analysis, and put it out there for us, then almost all the
comments miss the point, and start writing about how they put their
radials out so-and-so way- and get so-and-so results, I wonder at those
claims to be able to copy so well.

Oh- well- life goes on.
