After looking at several of the comments on N vs S stops on the HDR-300 I
will offer my opinion... I remove the arm that strikes the limit switch to
allow continuous rotation... Naturally you should not keep turning in one
direction but this modification will allow generous overtravel.. Example if
you are on Europe and need to turn to JA after going to
000 degrees the meter reads negative ( 330 degrees would be - 30)... Going
from the
other direction if I was at 330 degrees and wished to go to Europe it would
read
about 400 degrees ( 360 plus 40 )... I have never twisted off the coax... I
have never had any failure of the systems due to this mod... I have 6
HDR-300 in use and have had
for at least 10 years...
