What would I suggest??? Something that works! I tried one of those at a
visit to a friend's apartment in Taipei. The bands sounded totally dead; I
barely heard a watery VK8 on 20m SSB and nothing on 80/40.
We switched to his tribander with 40m attachment and suddenly the bands
came alive. I had a great run into the midwest and west coast on 40cw,
with nothing heard on the B&W dipole. So, you can use an antenna that
meets items 1-6 above, or you can decide to focus on 2 or 3 specific bands
with a simple fan dipole that costs about $50 -- but radiates. <;-)
