Sure, knock yourself out. In fact, rivet it and throw the hose clamps in
your parts bin. Actually I was very surprised to see that they are still using
hose clamps since most new antennas are using rivets. Using hose clamps adds
to the cost too. When I asked them about it, they said that that was the way
that they've always done it.

Plan to spend an inordinate amount of time getting the boom cradle
hardware secured. I did it three times before I got all the nuts and bolts in
and tightened.
