I have uploaded a note at my site with the above title in the little
history listings of the index. It is a look at a combination October,
1937, set of articles on small loops. Several folks sent me copies, for
which I am grateful. I do not have the e-mail address of W6ZH to thank
him for his help. Many others offered, and thanks also go to them.
In any event, the early work on small loops (both 1/2 wl and 1 wl
circumference)--with a gap for some directional gain--predates much of the
work we consider fairly modern.
I hope the little note is useful to someone, if only as a look into
antenna work 6 decades ago.
Incidentally, it appears that UTK has officially withdrawn the "funnelweb"
version of the site address. So, if you keep records, you might note the
new version, which has been in my signature line for a while now.
