I currently have a KT34XA up at 52 ft on a crankup that will support =
10sq feet in 50mph winds. As I want to pick up the 12/17m bands I am =
considering a 5 band cubical quad antenna. Needless to say, I have some =
concern about losing some "umph" on the three bands. My main questions =
would be
1. Front to back- I have heard that there are major problems with a =
quad with that many bands. In fact, Bill Orrs book recommends that you =
DO NOT put more than 3 bands on a quad. (Think it was his book, so =
don't quote me).

2. Feeding of quads. I prefer separate feedlines. What matches are =
people using out there. If using the gamma match, what capacitors are =
being used to handle legal limit.

3. Additionally, I seem to have read somewhere of a fellow putting a =
40m dipole just above the boom to mast and parallel to the boom. Any =
comments on this?

Believe me, I would rather stack a 12/17 with my XA, but don't advise it =
with my limited tower.
