Please, does anyone know what distributor has the cheapest price on
philistrand (or however it is spelled)??? I need to wrap up construction on
my tall 160 tower in the next week or two.
I'd like to use a flexible light weight guy line. Since I'm only guying the
top set in non-metallic line (the lower lines are all multiple insulators
in EHS cable), I only need about 1500 feet of non-metallic line.
The reason I want to use a smooth line is so I can pull ropes and wires up
without constantly dropping the top set of guys off the tower. With a
smooth line I could just let the wires or ropes slide up the line until
they get up to the top.
I thought about putting plastic over my grips, wrapping the grips with
tape, or heat shrinking the grip ends and just using insulators as an
alternative. I think with the ends of the grips covered, wires or ropes
would easily slide past the insulators. Anyone ever try this idea???
Nothing worse than snagging a wire under a grip.
