Texas 'talkians:
Finally some good news to report after last week :-(
A bill was recently introduced by State Rep. Gray into the Legislature =
that would essentially bring the State of Texas into compliance with =
PRB-1. It is modeled after the recently adopted legislation that was =
successful in Virginia. The better news is, that after consideration =
during public hearings and testimony yesterday in the House Committee on =
Land and Resource Management, the bill was "reported favorably without =
amendments".
The time is now to contact your District State Representative to =
encourage their support of House Bill 1345.
For those who do not know how to contact their District Representative, =
the State Legislature Web site has a search engine that can assist you =
in locating them via county, city and/or Zip Code. =20
The URL is: http://www.capitol.state.tx.us . For those who would like =
to read the text of the bill in full, a link is provided on that Web =
page as well.
For anyone who needs additional assistance is determining their =
State District # or Representative's name
that cannot do so from this Web site, please contact me directly at the =
address below. Please forward this message to any members of your local =
clubs, talk it up on any local area nets and/or repeaters and generally =
get the word out. Hams particularily in the Kingwood/Crosby area should =
be aware that your District Representative, Joe Crabb, sits as =
Vice-Chair of this House Committee. Bryan/College Station, Sugar Land / =
Mission Bend, Georgetown / Round Rock and Ft. Worth area hams should =
also be aware that you have local District Representatives who sit on =
the Committee as well. But, regardless of your location, the time is =
now to contact your State District Representative and encourage their =
support for House Bill 1345. =20
    Political soap-box mode OFF ;-).
73, Gerald W5BA w5ba@csi.com=20
