We have to be very careful comparing antennas at different
locations on different days and reaching conclusions. There are so
many variables in the equation, the results wind up being pretty
subjective.

I've had 40 meter yagis at 140 feet, and worked Europe in the
daytime from Ohio many many times when no one else was
hearing them.

What does that mean? Not much. None of it does unless you can
A-B two identical antennas at different heights from the same
location, and not have them interact.
