Amidst all the flak about Yaesu rotator support, a somewhat contrary
anecdote.

The oddball 10v bulb that illuminates the dial on my G-1000 control box
went out. I sent an e-mail to Yaesu USA, and within 12 hours had a
response saying they had it in stock and quoting a price plus a minimum S&H
charge of $4. Sent them my VISA card number, and got back a message saying
that since the part was under $2, they had sent it out gratis. Granted, a
small thing, but fairly consistent with my overall impression of the USA
operation. They sometimes seem to be operating under the constraints of a
less-than-responsive home office (viz. the policy of not selling rotators
and control boxes separately), but this anecdote suggests that their hearts
are in the right place.
