If you keep it a few inches from conductors (in general) it should work pretty
well. I would give the wire a twist (spriral) about 1 complete turn per foot
or so. This will tend to even out the capacitive (or inductive) load on each
side of the line and help keep it balanced. While outdoors this helps
significantly to steady the line in the wind.
I ran 250' of 450 Ohm outside to a dipole at my previous QTH, with about 15'
indoors. I feed it through the sill of a basement window (pinched between
window and sill) over a few pipes, etc and to the tuner. I measured an equal
field strength from each lead and had no radiation into the shack from the
ladder line (but I did from my coax until I choked that off, but that is a
different story.).
