I just purchased 19 sections of Rohn 25 tower and installed same
in January, 1999.
Apparently, when Rohn moved its assembly line out of Peoria to
Indianapolis something was lost in the moving process. There is
at least one set of holes in each section that are miss-drilled as much
as 1/8 inch; making this a very crooked 190 foot tower. How their
quality control dept. could miss this is beyond me! This is not a
fluke, as I have confirmed with one of the largest Rohn dealers that
"several truck loads" had to be returned for the same reason.
My tower installer has made a jig so that the holes can be redrilled
without the tower being taken down. We sent a video of the tower
to Rohn and asked for compensation for their error in workmanship.
They have not even bothered to contact me!
I guess Rohn 25 coustomers are so far down the food chain with them
that we are unimportant.
The bottom line is that if you purchase any new Rohn tower, check
the hole centers for proper specs. before you put the tower in the air!
