These are end sleeves, also known as ice sleeves. They are primarily for
ice coming down the guy wire and damaging/unraveling the Preformed grip. For
non-icing environments, a tie wrap around the end of the grip works great.
While I personally have not seen a grip unwrap by itself, the factory
recommends using a sleeve or tie wrap on the end.
