Am wondering if anybody has ever tried to improve the performance of the GAP
verticals by adding radials.
The antenna is basically an asymetrical vertical dipole with parallel tuning
rods that produce "resonance" for the various bands. On my GAP Titan there
is a so-called "counterpoise" at the bottom which are actually tuning
elements for 40m and 10m, not a counterpoise in the usual sense. So my
guess is that adding radials will only serve to detune the antenna. But I'm
not sure. Any thoughts on this?
