Guys,
Success in modifying the CC D40 to 30 meters!
Cranked the modified dipole up to 75' today after
some mods at 12'. SWR is 1.1:1 a 10.1 Mhz.
Modifications turned out to be:
1) Short out coil. Leave capacity hats
2) Add 10" of aluminium wire at the end of both
element halfs.
Coil was simply shorted out by ring clamps and
aluminium wire.
This mod turned out to be simple and can be easily
reversed. Better yet, it is nearly full length
and thus has a decent impedance.
