My Rohn 25G 30' house bracketed tower is almost up and time to start
thinking about putting "stuff" on it... Here is my newbie question for the
week.

Per a recent suggestion on towertalk, I want to mount the rotor down from
the very top of the tower so it is somewhat easier to get to... However,
The rotor plate seems made to fit only across the top of the side bracing
at the very top end of a tower section. The plate u-bolts to the tower
legs and it appears that if I try to attach the plate to a point in the
middle of a section, the vertical pieces of the bracing will get in the
way. The only ways around this would seem to be to attach the plate at the
top of the next to the last section (requiring a >10' mast just to clear
the top of the tower) or to cut notches in the plate so that it clears the
vertical sections of the bracing (would require bolting the plate to the
horizontal bracing rather than the tower legs).

Am I wrong in this? Suggestions?

Thanks,

Nat
