On Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, three men were on a 1500 foot tower owned by
station WFMX, about 60 miles North of Charlotte, NC. They were painting
the tower when for some as yet unknown reason, they fell to their
deaths. The wife of one of the deceased was injured at the base of the
tower and was hospitalized.
No further details.
This should serve as a tragis reminder for all hams to be safe when
working on towers and antenna work.
