I read with a lot of attention all comments about Guy Anchor Failures and I
related this comments with Bolts used in some towers like mine here in
Argentina to hold one section of the tower with the other.
In my case I resently take down a 9mts tower on the roof of my house being
there for 7 years , what I found made me a little preocupied because in each
union of section 2 of the 3 bolts 1/2" , were sever corroded. Sure it was
water, helping a lot and galvanic corrosion doing the danger job . In my
case the original bolts were not galvanized and also not the Tower. (good
that I decided to Take down the Tower )
So now I am installing a new tower biger than the other , the different is
that this one is a galvanised one and the bolts also , but this bolts are
inserted in a Bushing welded to the Tower and this Bushig with rain will be
full of water helping the corrosion.

My question is what tipe of grease or product is normal to use in this
condition, a lot of year ago in another tower I used lithium grease, may be
is something better?

I read that there was a sugestion to use Tar over the surface of the Guy
Anchors but I am not sure if Tar is the best because is some case like tar
over Copper is not good because it can be a little acid and with time the
tar make a hole in the Copper if it is a Tube.

Buy the way I dont use Guy Anchor , I use for the guys a base of concrete
coming out of the surface 5 feet , and they are more ore less 1500kg and 6
feet under the surface of my garden. MY wife is very happy!!
