I have a few surplus predriver #1 boards, C 3988W, from the Drake TR7, which
have 50-ohms in/out (solder posts), 20+ dB of stable adjustable gain from
100 KHz to above 50 MHz, take 12V power, and I have used several on my small
loops as low-noise preamps on 160-10M. They worked fine on a very
short-lived (one evening) quickie Beverage, as well.
They have gain-adjust pots in the second of 3 stages:
2N3563-SRF2281-SRF2281. Copy of schematic included.
Board is 2-3/4 X 3-3/4 in.G10, and less than 3/4-in. 'thick'. You supply 2
clip-on heat sinks for the '2281s.
Any one interested at $17 ppd?
