I suggest you look in the archives. This topic was rather completely covered
within the last few months.

As I recall, the bottom line on pointing was a hearty "It depends" on what
you're trying to protect.

| wind.  If so, this will be the MAXIMUM wind loading on the

| ENDS of the elements must point into the wind for minimum element
| wind loading.
