I had a gravel truck catch one of the top 1/4" guys on my 69' Rohn 45G foldover
(4-way guying at two
levels) and pulled the 4' long with 6" plate screw-in guy anchor, with ease,
right out of the
ground. The ground the anchor is in is black dirt (loam?) and the ground was
wet but not so wet
that the heavily ladened truck had a problem (the truck was on a bed of gravel
over the loam).
There was no damage to the guy or to the anchor. Luckily there was virtually
no wind blowing, and I
got the anchor back in the ground in a slightly different location without
problem.

During the ice storm here, I had 1" of radial ice on everything. You
can imagine the stress on a 500 foot long guy line with insulators
every 20-odd feet, and those anchors held that plus the pull of the
next lower set.
I use expandable anchors that require boring a hole, and anchors
rated at about three or four times the breaking strength of the total
of all guy lines attached to that anchor on upper guylines on big
towers. I use screw in anchors on small towers or on lower guy
lines.
I can't imagine pulling one out of the ground, unless the tower has
too many owls on it.
