I agree 100%. My 80M top loaded vertical is "long" in
the SSB portion of the band so a single series
capacitor yields a 1:1 match at 3790. An L-network
(one cap, one coil) gives a 1:1 match at 3510. These
are switched with a pair of relays. Very simple and
reliable.
