No problem, within the voltage rating of the coax.
Just don't cut the end off bluntly. Strip the braid back by perhaps 20 mm
(or 3/4" if you insist), and sleeve it with heat shrink sleeve. If you
simply cut the end, it will arc over when you run power. Also, you may want
to keep the "cap" away from tower legs etc.; the jacket's breakdown voltage
is not the greatest.
I used such caps in a shunt fed tower for a few years. The only problems
were related to charring when touching the tower, and to the end charring
because of arcing.
