Technical answer:
It probably won't take very long for the aluminum to get that nice, dull look,
and become less visible (without paint) all on its own.
Political answer:
Painting it a dull color right now would be proactive on your part and would
give the appearance that you at least care a little about your XYL's feelings
(whether or not it actually hides anything). Perception is a big thing!
