The Wireman people have some excellent 6 pin (for Yaesu) and 8 pin (for
Hy-Gain) molded rubber disconnect male/female plug sets that work like a
champ and are very easily waterproofed if desired, (unlike the Cinch-Jones
type, which are like swiss cheese to waterproof). They are keyed to avoid
mistakes when reconnecting, and are at

I bought a couple of sets for my Yaesu 1000 at the OKC hamfest last month,
they are good quality stuff, and don't seem to be priced very much higher
than the trailer connectors, which I used to use. With trailer connectors I
could only find 4-pin locally, so I had to double up on a set to run my
HAM-IV. It worked, but was a bit of a pain.
