You do not need a tuner with the ATAS-100 antenna....A tuner matches the
radio to a non resonant antenna....with the ATAS-100 you make the antenna
resonant to the frequency you have the radio tuned to. The antenna should
work fine as a base if you provide a decent ground. de Norm N8NH
