For Al soldering I use a Cad/Zinc solder and the all-state 509 flux.  As long 
as the flux does not char, it flows into a joint like any tin/lead solder on 
copper does.

The local welding shop had a kit for about $10 that came with a small bottle 
of flux and about 10 feet of solder.
