I saw the post about barrel connectors through Masonry (please note
spelling. Only one A in Masonry).
A friend tried it and made a real mess out of his wall. As a Licensed Mason
Contractor I fixed it up for him.
I'll give you some tips.
First rent a 'HammerDrill' and proper bits from your local tool rental. Home
Depot rents them.
Now here is the tip.
Get two bits, both obviously long enough, but a small diameter bit such as
1/4" to drill the first pilot hole.
And another bit with a large enough diameter to accept the barrel connector.
Drill the 1/4" first all the way through.
Then switch to the large bit but put a piece of tape equal to half way
through the wall on the bit.
Don't try to drill all the way through. It will blow out the other side
surface and make a mess.
Drill half way through from the inside, and go out and drill the rest of the
way.
You will end up with a neat job and no mess.
