Well, since it's pretty much agreed that an insulated- from-the-boom LPDA is NOT a good top hat for a half sloper, the next question is what is a better low-band DX antenna, an inefficient half-sloper or an inverted-V, both with apex at the same height (45')? The half sloper may be more of a "low angle" antenna, but is the loss due to the lack of a sufficient top-hat enough to make it second best even to an inverted V? |
