I agree with Randy (again) that David ought to rent a concrete
vibrator - this will aid in getting the entrained air out of the mix,
resulting in a stronger pour. However, this compaction by the vibrator will
also result in your needing a bit more concrete (been there - done that last
summer.) It's easy to use - my neighbor's 16-year-old kid vibrated the
10-1/2 cuyds in my tower's foundation.
