What kind of hardware are you all using to accomplish the quick disconnects?
I have all my gear bonded to 1" tinned straps, 1/2"od copper cables and
pipes all fastened with brass clamps and lug bolts. If I undid all that
everytime I went qrt I'd give up on operating. Maybe I should walk around
an electrical supply shop to get some ideas?

>6) DISCONNECT ALL EQUIPMENT AND CABLES inside the shack

>Yes, some would prefer to not disconnect things, but it really does >help.
>My towers having been hit 6 times last year and once this year, >I can tell
>you that you reduce the likelihood of damage when >everything is
>disconnected and the metal boxes can not touch each >other.

BTW, if you want to get a great visual idea of the concept go take a look at
a cell phone site. Basically they surround the site with a perim. ground
and strap _everything_ made of metal to it, that's not an RF surface or hot
service leads.
