I picked up an enormous amount of #12 multi-stranded wire for next to nothing, but it was insulated. When making my quad loops for my 80m meter array I was surprised to find that they were all cut too long and were resonant down below 3500. I cut and tested a few times and wound up lopping off around 15 feet or so from all the if I remember correctly. I like using the insulated wire. It never kinks or knots on me when I raise and lower the arrays into the brush for maintainence. Bill K4XS |
