Every ounce of my safety-conscious brain tells me not
to run one leg of a proposed 80-meter full-wave
horizontal loop above the service drop coming to my
residence from the power lines along the back property
line. But the tall trees in the backyard of my new
residence are so inviting -- they were tailor-made to
support a nice 80-meter horizontal loop. But, the
service drop is in the way. I need reassurance that I
am doing the right thing by not installing said
antenna in that location. Now, I am considering a
40-meter loop because I can avoid the service-drop
issue by going with a smaller loop.
Anyone want to convince me that I am wrong?
