I've had excellent success with PL-259's. Prior to scewing on the 
assembly, I LIGHTLY tin the braid and center conductor. This allows 
the solder to flow very well. I've been using a Weller gun 100/140W 
(now 30+ years old) with great success.

N connectors are another sotry. Maybe it's because I rarely use them, 
but I always have trouble getting it to screw together. Seems that 
rubber spacer is too wide. If anyone can tell me what the problem is 
there, I'd appreciate it.
