Greetings,

This is about site selection for my future tower(s) and antennas, and mostly
for folks on the list in Texas, so please reply privately if you can.

What are antenna restrictions like in TX in general, and specifically where
you live? I am interested in locating a new QTH and would like to know the
specifics in the various areas, as well as where you would choose if
deciding again.

In other words:

- What are the restrictions for city or county contruction/use/height where
you are and where is that?

- How bad/tough is the general building permit/inspection process there?
(ie: here, a permit is required to replace shingles on your roof, but in
Tennessee, only a few counties even have a building permit process - build
what you want)

- Are there any areas in TX you would recommend staying away from, or
recommend going to, for someone moving to TX and why? I lean more to the
do-it-yourself and minimal-government areas....

- Any comments about the counties/towns between DFW and Austin ?

- Where would you move if you were relocating in TX and wanted freedom to
put up an antenna farm without excessive permits and RFI problems (both as a
source AND a receiver), and good propagation? Did I mention good food too?
;)

It's a big state, but being able to get to a big city and back for a day
would also be nice. Any guidance you can give would be appreciated.

73, Skip
