I have a variety of wire antennas supported by trees and I have found 1/16 inch
galvanized cable to be the most reliable and abrasion resistant support line.
Its not quite as flexible as rope, but is just as easy to get up using the bow
and arrow with fishing line method.

And - its relatively inexpensive; i. e., 450 ft. for $ 6.75 at one of the "
closeout " suppliers.
