Hello all
Thanks for the good replies. I finally have most of the questions answered.
I tried adding about 5 feet of feedline (ladder line) and the swr went up on all
bands. So I started trimming a little at a time. Long story short, on 40, 20,
17,
and 12m, the swr is well below 2.0 to 1 without a tuner. On 15 and 10m, its
around 2.5 to 1 without a tuner. BUT 80m was at or above 3.0 to 1 with
nearly 500 ohms resistance. The ladder line measured out at a half wave and was
repeating the impedence at the shack end (which was 55 ohms). I removed the 4
to 1 remote
balun and put a 1 to 1 current balun and 80m went to 1.1 to 1 at 3.625 mhz
without
a tuner. Amazing.

I just need to get the balanced tuner built and I'm im in buisness.
Thanks all for the help
