Hi all,

Lots of "meat" in some of your comments. The investment capital angle holds a
lot of water in my mind. The mini-marketing class from Jim reinforces this
factor.

And, for Steve's benefit, I would have to consider this an "antenna and
tower" discussion - just that "ownership" of them is in the hands of our power
companies rather than a ham...hi,hi.

The mag that this article was written for, InfoWorld, is a MIS type pub -
aimed at corporate America and vendors to that market segment. The target
readership concern themselves with mainframes and BIG LANs...But, I bet the
investment bankers and market makers read it too!

As an AOPA member, what really got my juices flowing was the reference to
Airband usage of HF vs this possible built-in noise floor (high-rise?). AOPA
has
a very effective lobby in Washington D.C. for aviation interests. I will be
feeding some of these comments into their hopper tonight. AOPA is also charter
member of the Homeland Security family....perhaps there are many angles from
which some help will come our way.

I have to say, this is the most intelligent thread on this subject that I
have seen on any reflector to date...you guys are great.
