Art,
I guyed mine (160 m corner fed loop) with a simple 45 degree backstay made of dacron in each corner. It has withstood 85 mph wind gusts and been up for 4 years now.

Durwydd, That tower system seems so simple. Would you have to guy that or
is it sturdy enough to be self supporting.

Jack,
I used two 21 foot chain link fence rails, bolted with 1/4" lag bolts to
8 foot landscape timbers sunk at least 3 feet into the ground. I ran a
bakstay of dacron cord from near the top of each. Cheap, effective and
rugged. Rather than pulleys at the tops of the fence rails, I used staniless

eyebolts with the loop closures facing up to avoid snagging the rather thin
dacoron hayards suspending the antena. cost? about $26 each.
