Is there a reason why the cable in most crank up towers is not stainless steel?
I'm recabling an MA40 and need a suggestion as to what to use.

Although stainless is more corrosion-resistant than galvanized cable, the alloy isn't as strong as other steel. A stainless cable would have to be larger in diameter to have the same holding strength.
