| The OLD design Heights aluminum tower had an accessory tilt-over base section
about 4 feet high,
constructed of heavy steel (new one is aluminum like the towers). Does anyone
have one of the OLD
style Dayton gear-motors that were used to raise and lower the tower... the
motor used prior to the
new ones for the aluminum bases? I don't know exactly how old for sure, maybe
15 - 20 years?...but
the gearmotor looks similar to the Dayton Models 6Z403 (22 RPM) and 6K375 (40
RPM) which I believe
are now used by Heights. If anyone has one of these older units, I would
appreciate the model number
and the specs from the nameplate so I can try to get the one I have here
rebuilt. Please contact me
off the reflector at k3bz@arrl.net.
Thanks, Jerry K3BZ
