Sounds like a problem with your Orion AND perhaps the Daiwa switch.
Open the Daiwa and check for carbon arcing or deposits on the contacts.
I had a similar problem three years ago and the problem was found inside the
Daiwa switch.
Since it also appears with the coax directly to the Orion, be sure your
don't have the "Tune" engaged on the Orion.
