Hurricane Jeanne has done a major job on my 20 and 15 meter KLM stacks.
Replacement is probably not feasible.
I am still dealing with my insurance company (always an exciting time), but
will probably be replacing the 6 element 15 meter KLMs with either a Force 12
or a M2 6 element 15. The 5 element 20 meter KLMs will be replaced with either
a Force 12 or a M2 5 element 20. The size of the antennas is pretty much set
in stone since they need to fit inside the guy wires that are already
installed. Having to rip down eight antennas and install eight new ones by
CQWW is
plenty of work without having to reguy!
Having been a KLM-man for the last 20 years, I am not really familiar with
either M2 or Force 12. My experience is putting together a Force 12 40 meter
monobander and a Force 12 tribander. Both the 15 and 20 meter stacks of
antennas
will be mounted in a four stack array on swingarms.
I have looked up the two brands on eham product reviews and there were not a
lot of reviews on the monobanders these two companies make. Any comments on
the durability, ease of assembly, performance, factory support, quality control
and any other info on these two brands would be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking forward to the comments.
