There's frequently reference to "braid coverage" in regards coax cable.
Given that the "holes" in the braid coverage are so small as to appear
as a solid sheet at HF frequencies, is there any meaningful difference
in performance in 1.8-30Mhz?
Intuitively, it seems like the more the merrier, but I'm not sure I
understand how there's a performance difference between
a cable with 98% braid coverage, and a identical version with, say
85%,
Is this just an instance of marketing trumping engineering?
