Here's a couple more ideas: I use a rubber boot called a "FERNCO" which is available in many sizes wherever plumbing products are sold. I got mine at Home Deep-o. They're used to adapt from one size pipe to another, and they're made of pretty tough stuff. Get one that is the size of your mast on one end and large enough on the other end to clear the OD of your sleeve. Mount it with an SS hose clamp to the mast, just above the sleeve. You can slit it down one side and get it on that way, then clean the rubber with alchohol and seal the slit with RTV silicone rubber. It will keep out the rain. Between the sleeve and the mast, I use a fhin piece of polyethylene sheet cut from one of the new "disposable" cutting boards they sell in Walmart and supermarkets. To prevent wear, I wrap it around the mast and cut it so it doesn't overlap, then slide it in between the mast and the sleeve to act as a bearing. I checked it after a year and there was no noticeable wear. 73, Jerry K3BZ ----- Original Message ----- From: "W1GOR" <W1GOR@Maine.RR.Com> To: <kb9cry@comcast.net>; <towertalk@contesting.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2005 2:21 PM Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] Frozen Rotor Phil, _______________________________________________ See: http://www.mscomputer.com for "Self Supporting Towers", "Wireless Weather Stations", and lot's more.
