Hints & Kinks for KT34 rebuild

-Use a plumberâs pipe brush for cleaning the tubes. This is a handy tool with
wire brushes for cleaning the inside and outside diameters of tubing. It will
clean the aluminum but wonât remove as much material as sandpaper.

-Use a stiff piece of wire to clean the spider nests out of the 3/8" tubes

-The outer most straps at the end of the 15 meter traps is the most
unreliable connection. I suggest using a single small poprivet on the bottom
side of
both ends of the strap to secure it. Be sure itâs where you want it before
drilling! DO NOT poprivet anything else, ESPECIALLY the capacitors!

-Expect to spend about 40 hours to rebuild a KT34-XA completely. A labor of
love!

-Get new capacitor caps. Soften them in hot water before assembly.
