Subject: Tower stack rebuilding plans...comments please
Date: Wed, 11 May 2005 01:52:57 +0000
Hello experts!
I am planning to rebuild my tower and modify my operating "options" after
nearly 20 years.
My existing lash up is a 72' crank up, an older Tristao, with a 15' mast...on
that mast is a KT34-XA at the top of the tower; 9' above that is a 402-CD
mounted 90 degrees to the XA...both with appropriate Trusses. The 402-CD truss
is mounted under the Yagi .
I am planning to put a STEPPIR, proably the 3 element, at the KT34-XA location,
a 17 Element 2M Yagi between the STEPPIR and the 402-CD and then put a stacked
2x 11element 440 array above the 402-CD which could be as high above the 40
Yagi as 9 feet. Both the VHF and the UHF array would be fed with seperate
hard
line. The SteppIR would also be fed with a seperate hard line.
My hope is to eliminate the interaction between the XA and the 402-CD and put
everything on the same heading on the tower and have a littke fun on 144 440
and 6m.
Do any of the experts see anything flaky with my plan?
Any suggestions for a better stack?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
73,
Jon
